Institutional Asset Management
Asset management for professional clients.
Understanding institutional mandates
A mandate is where an institutional relationship begins. It describes what the client wants the engagement to achieve and the conditions under which it operates. Our starting point is to understand how the client's own governance, objectives and reporting expectations shape the work.
Illustrative description only. Mandate terms are confirmed in client documentation.
What a mandate typically covers
- The scope of assets and activities the engagement covers
- The investment objectives agreed with the client
- Reporting expectations and the cadence of formal updates
- The operational responsibilities that sit with each party
What we clarify early
- Who holds approval authority within the client's organisation
- The governance and oversight structure around the mandate
- Any constraints that shape how the portfolio is managed
- How changes to the mandate are documented and agreed
How we frame the investment process
The investment process is organised into stages so that both sides know what happens when. Each stage has a clear purpose and produces something the next stage builds on.
Mandate definition
We begin by defining the mandate with the client: objectives, scope, constraints and the governance context in which decisions are made. This stage sets the vocabulary for everything that follows.
Investment framework
A framework is agreed that describes how the portfolio is constructed and reviewed. It sets out the principles we apply, the responsibilities of each party and how the two connect in day-to-day operation.
Review rhythm
Reviews take place on a defined rhythm. Reporting, discussion and any adjustments to the framework are handled within that rhythm so that the mandate remains aligned with the client's objectives.
Where custody, trading and collateral fit
Digital asset custody, trading and collateral services are part of the wider asset management offering rather than separate products. They are considered together with the mandate so that the engagement stays coherent across its various parts.
Safekeeping and control arrangements for digital assets held within a broader asset management relationship.
Execution arrangements that support the trading activity agreed under the mandate, handled alongside our wider offering.
Financing and collateral arrangements that form part of the services available to professional clients.
How we work with clients
Institutional relationships are built on consistency and clear communication. We describe how an engagement is run in advance, then run it the same way, so that clients always know who to speak to and what to expect.
Illustrative description only. Working arrangements are confirmed in client documentation.
- A single point of contact for the duration of the engagement
- Documentation that reflects what has been agreed
- A defined review rhythm rather than ad-hoc updates
- Clear responsibilities on both sides of the relationship
- A joined-up view across custody, trading and collateral
